A Beautiful Ending To A Beautiful Series!!!

Richard’s Reign was yet another captivating book in the continuing Enthrall Series. I couldn’t wait to see what fate the author would give the third main character of this series. The book opens with Richard, a senior dominant at Enthrall a BDSM club, breaking off his D/s relationship with Mia. Beautiful sweet submissive Mia, try as she might, could never give him her complete love and submission because she was deeply in love with his best friend Cole. Richard loved Cole like no other and because he knew that Cole loved Mia beyond anything else in his life, he was willing to give her up; although, in his heart he knew that “you can’t give something that was never yours to begin with.” Bottom line, he never would have the love from Mia that he so desperately craved.

Richard was a mess inside; his insecurities about his family always on the surface ready to consume him combining with the loss of his submissive had all his thoughts jumbled in his head. The adrenaline junkie that he is had him doing things that could kill him, but he always looked at death in the face and laughed. But then a proposition of sorts is presented to him. Andrea Buckingham, A-list actress summons him because she needs his expertise about a scene that she is filming in her latest movie. He knew that he had met her once before and was intrigued to know what she wanted. When he found out he was a little bit shocked, intrigued, sexually attracted and totally stimulated because she wanted to hire him for two weeks so he could teach her all about the art of submission, and what exactly is “subspace”!!

Like manna from heaven, because Andrea was like Mia in so many ways, sweet, innocent to the ways of BDSM, willing to learn, but in that Mia could never be a submissive the way Richard wants and needs, he saw immediately that Andrea had all the submissive qualities that could be exactly what he wanted. He thought this would be the perfect way to transition from the heartache of giving Mia to Cole and it was only for two weeks! During those weeks Richard’s thoughts were always on Andrea and hers on him. Could they actually say good bye at the end of the two weeks!! The chemistry they shared together was not like anything he had ever felt before. As their beautiful story unfolds you can feel the love and desire that they both feel for each other. The sex as with all Vanessa Fewings books is hot, erotic, dirty, and sexy!!! I am so sad to see the Enthrall Series come to an end with this final book. The writing is magnificent and no detail is left unanswered. This book is a beautiful ending to a beautiful series. Thank you Vanessa Fewings!!

I fell in love with Richard all over again

I said from the first time I read Enthrall that this series was what I call smart erotica, and I stand by that statement right up until this last and final installment in the series. What is smart erotica? Well, read these books and you will see. It's erotica written to ensnare the reader in to the world of the characters. So many stories are just sex for the sake of sex. Not these books. They are so much more. Now on to Richard's story.

I went back and forth with Richard throughout the entire series. I loved him, then I wanted to smack him, then I pitied him, then I was angry with him. And now, I fell in love with him all over again.

He meets Andrea right after Mia. He knew he did the right thing, but the sting still hurts. What she asked of him was something he knew he could do, before. Could he still do it now? Did he want to do it? And would she agree to his terms and prove to him that this is what she really wanted?

This book was all about Richard coming in to his own. We watched Cameron do it, now it was Richard's turn. I think in many ways, he trained Andrea for himself as much as for her. I liked her too. Really liked her. I liked watching her grow and come to accept that side of her. When I read the blurb and saw "Hollywood starlet" I was expecting a spoiled princess. Andrea is anything but. She is kind, loving, and she needs to find the courage in her to be everything that she can be. And with Richard's help, she knows she can. From Pendulum to the ocean depths, Richard takes her on a journey of self discovery, one that was just as much for him as it was for her.

Of course, we see Cam and Mia. I felt for Richard. You knew he wasn't over the whole thing. There was a sadness reading those that really made me feel for him.

Richard's Reign is the perfect conclusion to this amazing series. I am so sad to see this series end, as it is one of my favorites. While I will always love Cam, this book made me understand Richard so much more. He certainly is more than ready to reign.

This one will consume you! And you will devour it! Intelligent and seductive, Vanessa Fewings has once again created an unforgettable story!

The Review:
Richard, Cameron and Mia. Their story? Two men who are more than brothers and one woman who would Enthrall them both. But ultimately, only one would win Mia’s heart and command her body.

I’m Team Cameron. It’s no secret and it’s really kind of an obsessive addiction. The man is fine! I’ve loved him since the moment he stepped on page in book one. Even with an exciting look into that perfectly brilliant mind of his, with his own two novellas, I still find him an incredible mystery. He is perfect for Mia in every way. No one could command her so completely, as he could. I felt it from the first time they interacted with one another.

And then there’s Richard. I’ve always loved him but I could never see past Cameron to fully understand Richard’s indelible charms. So when there was word that he would get his own novella, I was beyond thrilled to get a closer look at what made up his character. Plus, I am ALWAYS up for a Vanessa Fewings book. She is one of my favorite authors, ever! Her clever and sexy writing always inspires, as it did this time. She presented a new Richard and proceeded to carve out a place in my heart for him, and through this novella and his POV, I have seen just how remarkable the man is.

Like the series, I LOVED this book!

Story/Characters...
Richard had been at Mia’s side since the beginning of this series, as her love interest and intended long term relationship, set up by the delectable Dr. Cameron Cole, Richards best friend. But as their story unfolded, and through his inability to let his walls down and give her what she needed, it was clear to Richard where Mia’s heart and soul truly lay. So Richard lets her go and now he’s once again sporting a battle weary, broken heart. He may not be looking for commitment but he is looking for a distraction and the enchanting and beautiful Andrea Buckingham, Hollywood's A-list movie star, could be just what he needs.

Andrea needs coaching for the role of a lifetime. And she needs Richard's expertise in the world of domination and submission, to help her with her goal. But Andrea also needs to find herself and find her strength. She’s hoping Richard will guide her to her awakening.

Richard’s aversion to training inexperienced submissives lead to him losing the woman he loved, so it’s no wonder he’s reluctant to take on Andrea, whose inexperience and naivety shine bright. But Andrea is more than capable of kneeling to the occasion. I loved her character. Though she didn’t feel self assured, her personality and actions showed just how strong and unbreakable she really was. And her fortitude made her Richard's perfect match. With her courage, he could truly let himself go. It was clear after this read, why Mia and Richard were destined for failure and why in the end, he had to give her up.

Richard and Andrea were sensational together as Richard guides her into his world. Thier story is one of healing as she finds sweet surrender in the unknown and he finds something he thought lost to him forever... love. His gentle but firm guidance of Andrea on the heels of his heartbreak was indulgent but genuine. He exudes a confidence previously unseen and proves his demanding ego’s worth. As stated before, I always cared about Richard's character but the author pushes his boundaries in this read. She made him more competent, gave him more depth and infused a vulnerability not before shown, shining a light on his passionate side and his courageous side, all of which allows the barriers he’s erected around his heart and psyche to slowly fall away while taking Andrea under his tutelage and immersing her swiftly into the erotic world of BDSM. These things combined, not only made me love him, but ADORE him!

The Wrap Up:
Richard’s Reign is Richard’s conclusion, in his POV. We get to see things from his perspective, indulge in his thoughts and feel his true character. The author takes us back to the world of the elite and forbidden, playing out dark fantasies and the stimulating lifestyle that is Enthrall.

I also enjoyed the melding of both worlds as this book briefly revisits Richards scenes with Mia and Cameron from Cameron’s novellas, focusing on Richard's time in between. It was a nice way to round out the storyline. I’m going to miss these characters more than I can express. One can hope there might be future novellas, but if not, the author ended everything on the best note, giving all the characters a life to be envious of.

Do I suggest this book? Hell yeah. Do I suggest this entire series? Without a doubt! And I’ll shamelessly promote this series anytime I can. It’s just that amazing!

intriguing concept

This is a very interesting novel that pretends to be an autobiographical depiction of the Spanish dictator. It isn't, of course. However, it makes for interesting reading for anyone who would like to learn more about the history of the Spanish Civil War and the leader of the victorious forces. It is not a flattering depiction of General Franco, but I like it.

Excellent! Well worth getting

This book collects the best of the best from over 20 years of art relating to the grim medieval/Dark Ages world of Games Workshop's gaming blockbuster "Warhammer". (I should mention that for fans of their equally successful futuristic version of the game, Warhammer 40,000, there exists a separate tome entitled "The Art of Warhammer 40,000".)

I have been waiting YEARS for Games Workshop to do something like this! To tell you the truth I don't even play Warhammer, but it was this amazing art which graced the covers of their rule books and gaming-piece boxes, etc. which first grabbed my attention and got me interested in reading the novels and learning more about their universe.

For someone like me who always loved Tolkien (yes, since way, waaay before those movies) and always wished he could find more set in the same kind of universe full of evil Orcs, stalwart Dwarves and noble Elves and Men, this was exactly what I had been looking for.

Having spent many years digging up some of the old Warhammer rule books just to be able to appreciate the fantastic art contained therein, I can tell you that contained in this one single volume is about the best 80% of all the art that they ever produced (so far!).

When I first got the book and flipped through it, at first I was a little disappointed to see that about 1/5 of the works here are in black and white. But checking back with some of the originals, I now realize that these particular works were originally created in black and white, and this was not just some sort of chintzy cost-saving cutting of corners. In fact this is a wonderful high-quality book with most of the works being highly detailed full-colour paintings, all printed on the highest quality stock.

This has been an excellent purchase and I feel it was worth every last penny. I am happy to give this book my highest possible recommendation, and would recommend it not only to Warhammer fans but also fans of Tolkien, players of fantasy games like Warcraft and Dungeons and Dragons, and lovers of fantasy art in general.

And for those of you who buy this book and find yourself wanting even MORE, I would also recommend the book "The Art of Clint Langely", one of Warhammer's finest artists.

Games Workshop, keep the great art and novels coming, and I really hope you'll make a Volume 2 for this book someday. I love it!

(And how about some 6" or 7"-scale action figures of these fabulous characters too? I love the character designs, but those tiny little gaming pieces of yours are just too small for me.)

Decent book for the money, a Trip down Warhammer memory lane

A good "historical" review of the art of the Warhammer Fantasy battle universe for the last 2o+ years. I found myself recognizing the art and enjoying the book. Recommended for the Warhammer buff only though. Detailed art related to the gaming genre.

SIMPLY DAZZLING ARRAY OF ART

Following up on last year's The Art of Warhammer 40,000, The Black Library now gives of the logical sequel, The Art of Warhammer. This hardcover collector's edition contains 224 pages by some of the most noted Warhammer artists. The art in this book has been culled from a number of sources including game supplements, rulebooks illustrations, book covers, etc...Warhammer fans are some of the most fervent fans there are, taking particular pride in not only the substance of the Warhammer world but also the style. The visuals are as important to Warhammer fans as anything which is why they spend countless hours meticulously painting miniatures. The graphics are what helped make Warhammer as popular as it is today with gaming items, books, miniatures, computer & video games, and more.

The roll call of artists includes the great John Blanche, David Gallagher, Adrian Smith, Karl Kopinski, Geoff Taylor, Alex Boyd, and Paul Dainton. Each piece in the book give the name of the painting, the artist's name, the original source, and the year.

I really love Taylor's "Dragonslayer" from the William King Novel of the same name showing a huge red dragon breathing fire onto an airship above snow-covered mountains. I also love the impossibly armored Engra Deathsword by Adrian Smith, about as intimidating of a figure as you'd ever care to see. Taylor's Chaos Knights are also quite stunning.

Most of the book is in full color but there are some black and white illustrations as well, notably the Blanche pieces which are utterly dazzling in their incredible detail. Blanche's Citadel of Chaos has so much going on in it that you could spend hours gazing at it and continue to find new things you missed. Another standout piece is Paul Dainton's Tomb Kings, a two-page spread of skeletal warriors, some on skeletal mounts and chariots, marching forward into battle.

Games Workshop always puts out great looking books and this one is no different. The hardcover book is printed on heavy, coated stock with dustjacket. A gorgeous package!

Data Driven goes nowhere

I expected great things from a book subtitled "Creating a Data Culture." I hoped to read the vision of two data science leaders and glean insight about team and organizational strategies. What I found instead was an uninspiring account of daily tactics used by data technicians and old examples of the decisions driven by data.

Furthermore, in these examples, they do nothing to support their claim that data had anything to do with the success to which they link it. Grammatically speaking, their paragraph has "no data" to support their broad generalizations. Additionally, in at least one example (GE Aviation), their claim is either false or so vague or poorly communicated as to give it the appearance that it is false: it's their suggestion about the use of GE's jet engine data that fails to meet muster. I can say this as an experimental test pilot, mathematician, engineer, and published industry expert.

Finally, their recommendations for "data processes" fall flat. Their recommendations sound more like tactics, something to add to a daily to-do list than processes. They share their own experience rather than broad, far-reaching advice.

Good baseline look at Data in Business Intelligence

This is an easily consumed paper. It has a solid perspective on how to approach data in the current age. Terms like "big data" get thrown around, but few people can agree what it means. This paper gives some hooks to hang better ideas about data and what it can mean to your organization.

It was basic and easy to read. It did not bridge some gaps on how non-technical people will actually use data. He gives examples where data works but does not where it does not. He implies data is the answer when it has been around forever and is actually just a tool.

How did this ever get published?

An absolutely terrible series book and certainly not appropriate for a pre-teen. Our daughter is getting into Greek mythology and was planning on being Aphrodite for Halloween. We thought this would be a great segue for her to understand the (historical/ mythical) character in a fiction setting. Instead, it's absolute trite, about a bunch of catty girls drooling over guys with abs (!) and talking about hair styles. WTH? What has this got to do with Greek Mythology? Why even use the premise?. Call it something else all together. This is like a movie reboot that simply uses the title of the original to sell movie tickets, yet has zero to do with the original's story line or concept. You get the picture!

Piece of garbage. I bought these books hoping my daughter would ...

Piece of garbage.
I bought these books hoping my daughter would build up on her knowledge of Greek mythology and get to admire the power of godesses in different cultures of the world.
Turns out these books are just another My Little Pony or Mean Girls type of series set in a fake version of Greece that looks a lot like Miami or LA where the "godess" girls mainly do the following -
- go to malls. Yes, some make believe malls in Olympia
- go shopping to buy dresses and make up,
- talk about how to look pretty
- have crushes on godboys
- crave for the attention of godboys
- gossip, mainly about godboys
- have parties
- debate about whether all maidens should get married or not
- do a whole lot of really ridiculous sorority sister stuff.

This is not what I had in mind when I bought these books.
It seems like the authors are attempting to teach mythology in a really really dumbed down way.
What could have been an opportunity to create great characters and inspiring stories has been completely wasted.
The godess girls are worse than the Disney princesses. Stay away from them!
Read "The Princess in Black" instead

Goddess Girls Set w/charm bracelet is a real winner

I bought this set for my third grader granddaughter and she loved it so much that I bought additional titles in the series, too. The only way this series might be better - is to include how to pronounce the names of the Greek gods and goddesses. We do the best we can on that front but the stories themselves need NO improvement. I'm sure I'll be buying additional titles as they are released in the future. By the time she gets to a higher school grade, she'll know plenty about these Greek myth characters - a real plus.

She loved the charm bracelet, too !

About the Author
Taekyung Chung is a Korean ex-pat who has lived in Japan for 17 years. She is a frequent contributor to newspapers and magazines who has taught Korean cooking for 20 years, and is also author of two previously published books.

Debra Samuels has taught cooking for over two decades. She has done countless cooking demonstrations and classes all over the Boston area as well as for the United States Embassy in Tokyo. She also developed the popular "Kids Are Cooking" series on food, culture and nutrition for Boston's Children's Museum in the United States. Ms. Samuels is also a food writer and food stylist for The Boston Globe.

Good for beginners, but not very authentic recipes

After reading the reviews on most of the Korean cook books available on Amazon, I decided to go with this one. I'm a Korean American born and raised in Texas marrried to a Korean man born and raised in Korea. Needless to say, I found the need to learn how to cook more Korean dishes. I had a couple of recipes up my sleeves already, but that obviously wasn't going to be enough for a man that was going to be missing his homeland food terribly now that he's living in Houston. Yes, there are a few very good Korean restaurants in Houston, but we can't be eating out all the time! I was hoping this book would be perfect for a novice like me, but I ended up being quite disappointed. The illustrations are great, but the recipes are not all the most authentic. Some of the dishses my husband had never even heard of. Many of the recipes seem to be "westernized." I still think this would be a great book for a beginner, but not for someone who is looking for authentic Korean recipes.

Wonderful Compliment to Korean Cooking

One reviewer recently mentioned that her biggest complaint was that this book didn't have more traditional recipes. Having grown up on Korean food, I don't fully disagree with her opinion, however, there are several "traditional" recipes to satisfy any Korean, and in addition, there are several other recipes that I found to be a wonderful compliment to modern Korean cuisine. While some of these recipes are not common or "traditional," they do show the wide variety of styles that are found in Korean cooking today! These recipes do, in my opinion, retain the "traditional" foundations of Korean cooking, especially with regards to flavor, and they simply take things a step further by adding some modern dishes, such as Korean style hot wings, etc. Also keep in mind that there are regional variations to Korean food, and the recipes in this book reflect this as well.

If you are looking for only true "traditional" Korean cuisine, then you might be better off looking for a book that provides you recipes based on Korean Court dishes... Otherwise, this book is absolutely wonderful with delicious, easy to make recipes, unlike traditional Korean Court dishes which are often very labor intensive!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in Korean cuisine, especially to beginners of Korean cooking. As I previously mentioned, the recipes are quite simple with ingredients that are easy to find, and it also does a good job covering the core basics of Korean cuisine, especially the sauces!! I really applaud the creators for also being different by adding some recipes that highlight the diversity of true Korean cuisine today!

Great introduction! But missing a few things...

I've always been interested in Korean food even though I'm not Korean myself, so I bought this book to give Korean cooking a try. I've had about ten recipes from this book, including some barbecue dishes, the eggplant, spinach, and bean sprout side dishes, and the kimchi stew. I've also read a few of the other reviews saying that the food here isn't truly authentic Korean food. Even so, I'll put my take on this.

Pros: The beef barbecue dishes are absolutely wondrous! The first time I ever had it was when a friend's mom (from Korea) made the same recipe, and the recipe in this book was an exact replica! I remember falling in love with the dish when I had it back then, and I had the same feeling when I made this for myself. For others who want to try this, make sure you leave the beef in the marinade overnight, as the beef will be packed with flavor the next day. Also, it doesn't say in the book, but I also used LA style ribs (called kalbi). They're cut into medium-thin slices across the bone, not along the bone, and somehow I found the beef packs more flavor from the marinade that way. You can find this in Korean groceries, or if you don't live near one, ask your local butcher to slice the meat through 3 bone ribs into 1/2 inch slices. Also, although I didn't find the bean sprout dishes to have as much flavor as I expected, the spinach and eggplant side dishes were wonderful! I never had the original, but I found them delicious nonetheless. Also, the seafood porridge really hit the spot! It's my backup when I'm too lazy to make breakfast in the morning, I make it the night before and heat it up the next morning.

Cons: I've had to make minor adjustments with the sesame oil amounts in many recipes since I haven't been able to find dark sesame oil, and I also had to make some minor adjustments with some other basic ingredients in order to make some dishes more flavorful, but you can easily change the amount of spices to fit your tastes. Also, the kimchi stew didn't taste as flavorful as the kimchi stews I've had in Korea when I visited a few summers ago, and the meat wasn't cooked to how I liked when I followed the recipe, so in the end I cooked the meat separately before adding it to the stew. Nevertheless for those who cannot handle a lot of spicy flavors this should suit your palette anyway. Also, there are some iconic Korean recipes that aren't in this book, such as spicy rice cakes (ddeokbokki), kalguksu (a kind of noodle soup), and ddeokguk (rice cake soup), so I was a little sad since those three recipes are some of my favorite Korean dishes.

In the meantime, I'm going to try a few more recipes from this book, and I can definitely say it's a wonderful introduction to cooking your own Korean food.

About the Author

MARGARET CORDING is a doctoral candidate at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Virginia, specializing in business ethics and strategy. She earned her MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Previously she worked in financial services for over 15 years, most recently as a managing director for The Chase Manhattan Bank.

THOMAS DONALDSON is the Mark O. Winkelman Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he is the director of the Wharton Ethics Program. From 1990 to 1996 he held the position of the John F. Connelly Professor of Business Ethics in the School of Business, Georgetown University. Professor Donaldson has written broadly in the area of business values and professional ethics including The Ties that Bind: A Social Contract Approach to Business Ethics, co-authored with Thomas W. Dunfee (Harvard University Business School Press, 1999), and Ethics in International Business (Oxford University Press, 1989).

PATRICA H. WERHANE is the Ruffin Professor of Business Ethics and senior fellow of the Olsson Center for Applied Ethics in the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. She was formerly the Wirtenberger Professor of Business Ethics at Loyola University Chicago. She has been a Rockefellor Fellow at Dartmouth, Arthur Anderson Visiting Professor at the University of Cambridge, and Erskine Visiting Fellow at the University of Canterbury (New Zealand). Professor Werhane has published numerous articles and is the author or editor of 13 books including Persons, Rights and Corporations, and Adam Smith and His Legacy for Modern Capitalism. Her latest books are Moral Imagination and Managerial Decision-Making, and Organization Ethics for Health Care (with E. Spencer, A. Mills and M. Rorty) both with Oxford University Press. She is also founder and former editor-in-chief of Business Ethics Quarterly, the journal of the Society for Business Ethics
