Finally! A Systematic Theology for Everybody...

This compilation from Dr. Tony Evans is a much needed and long overdue resource. Being over twenty years in the making, "Theology You Can Count On" effectively blends theological depth and practical application which is unfortunately not characteristic of most works in this family. Most Systematics are long on information but they tragically fail to bridge the biblical teaching to the Christian in such a way that will inform their mind and impact their walk.

This massive book(almost 1400 pages)is no mere collection of sermons. It is a serious presentation that is a joy to read and is equally easy to understand. Each division of theology is broken up into smaller, digestible chapters with tools for personal application and group discussion. These combine to make "Theology You Can Count On" an excellent choice for personal study, small group, Sunday School, and Bible Institute. This comprehensive resource can even be used in one-on-one discipleship, eliminating the need to purchase multiple smaller books.

"Theology You Can Count On" though very full is not by design a scholarly treatise. And as with any theological writing, one may find points of disagreement. It is however throughly evangelical and gives great evidence to Dr. Evans' very high view of Scripture.

In conclusion, quoting Dr. Evans: "Theology, when properly understood, ought to be challenging, inspiring, transforming, and even fun." And if these are what you want from your study of God then "Theology You Can Count On" is for you. Now go have fun!

Makes theology easy to understand

As expected, Tony Evans has taken a very complicated subject and made it understandable. This is a very long book, about the size of the Bible, but it is broken up into short chapters. Each chapter ends with questions that make it useful for group or personal study. What I really like is that each chapter has a "Picture This" chart that explains the topic studied, with Scripture passages that relate to that topic.

The reason I enjoy Tony Evans is that he explains things with stories and examples. This is an awesome book if you want to "know what you believe." I think that Christians are being dumbed down today, and not doing their own study. This book will make it possible for all of us to grasp important theological concepts.

The only warning I would give, is that the information in this book is basically a collection of the books in his "Understanding God" series. If that is not an issue for you, then this book is highly recommended!

I have uncovered much hidden information about the Trinity, The Word, and The importance of the Church and its people. This book is helpful for anyone whether you have many years of studying the Bible or not at all. This is a highly recommended book for anyone who desires to know more, to understand more, and to encourage others in their relationship with Christ as their Savior. I found many helpful insights to questions and concerns about what has been taught or preached in sermons or blogs. I truly enjoy the writing style of Tony Evans, he brings stories to alight the truths of the Bible. I will recommend this book to anyone I encounter who wants answers to questions of the Word and the Trinity and Angels and Christ and the Church.

I passed the special agent exam just fine for the ATF but I cannot say this book ...

I can't say this book really helped, a lot of non-pertinent information and information overload. I passed the special agent exam just fine for the ATF but I cannot say this book had anything to do with it. I purchased this book and the other special agent written and published by Peterson's, the Peterson's book was far more helpful and included information about the entire process of becoming a special agent. Save your money, this book is outdated and irrelevant.

For anyone looking to study for any LEO / federal agent exam, this book is poor quality and out of date. I suggest looking at the other options available on Amazon. The best starter reference guide I am aware is Arco 12th edition "Master the Special Agent Exam"

About the Author
Aida Trujillo is the author of the book "A la sombra de mi abuelo". She was born in the Dominican Republic the 23th August 1952 and lived in her country until she was seven years old. Then her family sent her to a boarding school located in Madrid (Spain). Thereafter she went to other schools in Lausanne (Switzerland), Rome (Italy), Barcelona (Spain) and Jacksonville, Fla. (United States of America). She is General Rafael Leonidas Trujillo�s grandaughter, her father is Ramfis his firstborn son and her mother is Octavia Ricart, all of them deceased."A la sombra de mi abuelo" is the first of three books she has published and with this work she won the National Novel Prize, "Manuel de Jes�s Galv�n", of the Dominican Republic. She is the mother of four children: Carlos, Jaime (passed away), Hayd�e and Nicol�s. Her life has lapsed between the Dominican Republic, Spain, Switzerland, France and Italy. Currently she resides in Spain and works for the newspaper "El Nacional Dominicano" as a collaborator. This book is written in Spanish, awaiting to be traduced to other languages.

This text presents the standard material usually covered in a one-semester, undergraduate course on boundary value problems and PDEs.  Emphasis is placed on motivation, concepts, methods, and interpretation, rather than on formal theory. The concise treatment of the subject is maintained in this third edition covering all the major ideas: the wave equation, the diffusion equation, the Laplace equation, and the advection equation on bounded and unbounded domains. Methods include eigenfunction expansions, integral transforms, and characteristics. In this third edition, text remains intimately tied to applications in heat transfer, wave motion, biological systems, and a variety other topics in pure and applied science. The text offers flexibility to instructors who, for example, may wish to insert topics from biology or numerical methods at any time in the course.

The exposition is presented in a friendly, easy-to-read, style, with mathematical ideas motivated from physical problems. Many exercises and worked examples have been added to this edition. Prerequisites include calculus and ordinary differential equations. A student who reads this book and works many of the exercises will have a sound knowledge for a second course in partial differential equations or for courses in advanced engineering and science. Two additional chapters include short introductions to applications of PDEs in biology and a new chapter to the computation of solutions. A brief appendix reviews techniques from ordinary differential equations.

About the Author

J. David Logan is Willa Cather Professor of Mathematics at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. He received his PhD from The Ohio State University and has served on the faculties at the University of Arizona, Kansas State University, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. For many years he served as a visiting scientist at Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories. He has published widely in differential equations, mathematical physics, fluid and gas dynamics, hydrogeology, and mathematical biology. Dr. Logan has authored 7 books, among them A First Course in Differential Equations, 2nd ed., published by Springer.

I bought this book knowing that it was used. I've never bought a used book before. When I received it, it was very obviously used. That said, The content of the book, the story of the capture of Adolph Eichmann is riveting. It is more than amazing how the Israeli's were able to capture him in Argentina and bring back to Israel, put him on trial and find justice. It is an unbelievable part of history that everyone should know about. I recommend it highly.
