A great resource, and doorway into Spurgeon's sermons

This set is pure gold. I haven't read it completely, but I think I've finally read enough in it to write an adequate review. It consists of sermons by Spurgeon, organized by subject A-Z. Volume 1 begins with "Abraham; Adoption; Affliction; etc." and volume 15 concludes with "Work; Youth; Zeal." There are an average of 8 subjects per volume, and almost every major biblical subject is represented. Christ, with a full range of sub-headings, takes up two whole volumes, which makes sense, as Spurgeon was so Christ-centered in his preaching.
I reference this set often, whenever I'm wondering "What did Spurgeon preach when it came to that subject?" I just recently read through the section on the Holy Spirit. It contained 10 full sermons and 3 shorter expositions of Biblical passages. Of the 10 sermons, only 2 of them overlapped with 12 Sermons on the Holy Spirit. Volume 15 contains a full index of subjects, an index of all the sermon texts, and a separate index of all of the expositions. For example, there are an additional 3 sermons relating to the Holy Spirit, but found under other subject headings, such as "Covenant" and "Word of God."
The set is nowhere near exhaustive, like the Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit (63 Volume Set), and all of Spurgeon's sermons are available and searchable online. Sometimes when I'm looking for a sermon on a particular text or subject, I'll go online to look. Nevertheless, I still love the encyclopedia. There's something about having the sermon in print in your hands, underlining, taking notes, and working through a set of sermons on a subject. I'm glad I don't have to choose between one or the other!
I highly recommend Spurgeon, however you can get him. I really do enjoy having so many of his sermons arranged by subject, and not a repetition of the "12 Sermons on..." series, which I also love. If you can find a good set, by all means get it!
